Website Monitoring And Your Plastic Surgery Marketing Plan

January 23, 2013 by Surgeon's Advisor

In order for your website to be a success, it’s important that you incorporate website monitoring into your plastic surgery marketing plan. Just as businesses must be regularly monitored to understand how they’re doing and what’s working and what is not, so too must your website. The two main aspects that must be monitored on a regular basis include your website’s function and its performance.

Website Function Your website must be regularly checked to ensure that it is functioning properly. Make sure that you check any forms that you have on your site, including contact forms, newsletter sign-up forms, and so on. Also be sure to check that all of your links are working and quickly fix any broken links that you find. Staying on top of your download times is important too because slow-loading pages are one of the most common reasons for dissatisfaction among Internet users. Check all of your pages regularly to ensure that they’re downloading quickly, and try to check them at different connection speeds. You can speed up slow-loading pages by removing some elements, such as excessive graphics or overly large graphics. It’s also important that you keep an eye on your server’s performance and quickly report to them any problems with speed or accessibility.

Website Performance Keeping tabs on your website’s performance can help you to determine what is working for you and what is not and what changes may be necessary. Your visitor logs can provide you with a great deal of information. Regularly review the total amount of traffic to your site as too little traffic or a drop in traffic will require your attention and likely some change. You should also review the number of pages that your visitors view and which pages they are visiting. If many of your visitors are viewing only a single page or a small number of pages, you’ll need to put some effort into encouraging them to remain on your site. You can also analyze your most popular pages to see why they’re so effective and apply that to other pages. And you will likely need to change or even remove pages that aren’t popular. Your visitor logs will also tell you where the visitors to your site are arriving from. If they’re coming from the search engines, than your search engine optimization efforts are likely proving effective. You should also review the keywords and keyword phrases that visitors are using to find your website.
