The Plastic Surgery Marketing Plan: Manual Vs. Automated Search Engine Submission

Any good plastic surgery marketing plan for the Internet should involve the search engines. Many, if not most, of the visitors coming to your site will likely find you after conducting a search. As such, your website must be optimized and designed to perform well in search engine rankings. Once this is achieved, your website must then be submitted to the search engines, which can be frustrating to say the least. Your options include both manual and automated submissions.

When it comes to directories, however, manual submission is your only option. Directories are similar to search engines, though they’re more like a library with websites organized into categories and subcategories. Unlike search engines, directories use human editors to review submitted websites and to categorize and rank them. The only way to succeed in the directories is to provide a website that offers good content and is visually appealing. Directory submission must be done by hand because automated submission programs simply can’t determine the best category for your website and adequately submit it.

All search engines allow you to manually submit your site, but it’s a lengthy process that can take a good deal of time, particularly when submitting to multiple search engines. It’s also easy to make typographical errors since you’re entering a lot of repetitive information. Waiting is also part of the process. Most search engines have a lag time of several weeks to even months, so expect to wait before your site actually appears. In fact, you may even have to resubmit your site again or even several times before it appears in the search engine database.

Automatic submission is another option for the search engines. Rather than repeatedly entering your information for each search engine, you only need to enter it once. An automated tool remembers the information and takes care of the submission to each search engine. These tools are particularly useful when you need to resubmit your website. However, beware of automated submission providers that are scams and be sure to find a reputable one. A good automated submission service can save you a great deal of time and allow you to then focus on getting your site to the top of the rankings.
