Plastic Surgery Marketing – More Tips For Good Web Design

January 25, 2013 by Surgeon's Advisor

First impressions are important, and even more so on the Web. It’s been shown that visitors to a website first judge that site based on its design, or visual appeal, and just within the first four or five minutes. Though other elements of a site, such as the content, will help to determine a visitor’s impression of a site, it is only after that site’s design has convinced those visitors to stay and take a further look. With that said, the importance of achieving a good design for your plastic surgery site cannot be stressed enough. The following are more tips for achieving good web design.

  • Use contrasting colors for your text and background. Using dark blue text on a black background may seem cool, but it certainly won’t make your text easy to read. It’s best to use a dark text on a light background. There are some exceptions when a light text will work on a dark background, but keep in mend that this can be more visually challenging for the viewer.
  • Cut out the clutter. It’s best to minimize the use of flash and gif animation. Though they can be very eye-catching, they can also be very distracting. Use other images and graphics wisely. When there are too many graphics on a page, they simply lose their impact.
  • Create easy, consistent navigation. Make sure that visitors can easily and quickly navigate throughout your site to find what they’re looking for. A search feature can be very helpful in this regard. Navigation must also be consistent on every page of a site.
  • Align text and pictures properly. For reading, the best alignment for text is the left alignment. When placing pictures within text, they are also best when left aligned in the body of text.
