The search engines are one of the best tools for plastic surgeon web site promotion. In fact, the search engines may very well be the largest source providing traffic to your website. As such, it’s important that your site be optimized to gain high rankings within the search engines. The following are tips to help you do just that.

Most sites aren’t comprised of a single page. Nevertheless, many people limit search engine optimization to just their home page. It’s important that your SEO efforts go toward the rest of your website as well. Since the search engines love content-rich pages, many of your interior pages are ideal for optimization. Try to optimize interior pages for keywords that match the content. By doing this you can target many different keywords with many different pages, thus increasing the ways in which visitors can find your site. Further, be sure that the interior pages you want to optimize have their own META and TITLE tags that match their content, and not just ones that have been copied and pasted from the tags on your home page.

Just as you shouldn’t solely focus your SEO efforts on your homepage, don’t try to target all of your keywords on a single page. Try to spread your keywords out among your pages, limiting yourself to no more than a dozen keywords on a single page. You can expand both your keywords base and your potential visitors by using a different set of keywords for each of your pages. However, be sure that the keywords you use on any page are relevant to that particular page’s content. Also be sure to include your keywords in your TITLE and META tags.

Once your pages are optimized, they’re ready to be submitted to the search engines. You can do this yourself or save some time by using a submission service. Remember, your site may need to be resubmitted several times before appearing in the search engines. Once they’re there, however, your optimization efforts are sure to pay off with increased traffic.
