Websites can be very anonymous, and that isn’t necessarily a good thing. A visitor to your site really has no idea what kind of a doctor your are or what your practice is like. Nevertheless, they’re expected to spend thousands of dollars on your services and even entrust their health and well-being to you. That may be a bit of a scary proposition for many. You can, however, inspire your visitors’ trust by adding a personal touch to your website.
There are several ways that you can build trust on your website. One of the simplest ways is adding your contact information, including a physical address. This allows visitors to see that you have an established practice and really do exist. Pictures can also help in this regard, namely pictures of your office, yourself, your staff and so on. Pictures and testimonials of previous patients can also greatly increase the trust factor.
Another important way to add a personal touch and inspire trust is with an About Us’ page. This should include a biography of yourself. On a professional level, you should include the following:
- Your education
- Your work experience
- Any board certifications
- Any association/organization memberships
- Any specific or additional training
- Any awards or commendations
- The number of years you’ve been practicing
- Any other important information
You can also include some non-work-related information to add a bit more of a personal touch, but be sure to still keep it professional. You should also talk about your practice and its history, including when it was started, why you started your own practice, and who your employees are. Remembering that by adding a personal touch, you’re showing visitors to your site that you are a real, caring person and not just a faceless website.
