Flickr has established itself as the most popular site for photo sharing. As of October 2009, it was reported that there was over 4 billion photos uploaded on Flickr, and according to the Flickr website, 4,768 photos have been uploaded in the last minute.

Google is announcing that they are going to be making a few small changes to the results pages when you do a search that is related to a geographic area. The inclusion will make for some nicer viewing and more interesting results when you query a geographic area in Google search, offering you some visual aids that will actually let you view the area you are searching in many cases.
Initially previewed all the way back in 2006, Microsoft’s Photosynth software will finally be available to the public. This innovative photo manipulation software allows users to splice together multiple photographs and create an interactive landscape which can be viewed and manipulated. Depending on how the photographs are "synthed" together, users will be able to zoom in for closeups, zoom out for a macro view, scroll left and right and even rotate the perspective left and right.
