Is there a certain size screen resolution our website should be designed for?

As a general rule, you should try to make your site best viewed at 800x600 and 1024x768 resolutions. Those are the most commonly used screen resolutions today.

Just keep in mind it is nearly impossible to have your website look perfect on everyones monitors, so if you go for the above mentioned screen resolutions, you should do fine.
