What is a dead end page?

How can I tell if my website has any?

A dead-end page is basically a web page that has no navigation on it. Since there is no navigation, the visitor has to either use the back button to go back to a page they can navigate your site from, or they close that browser window.

Dead-end pages should be avoided. If your site contains a page that is used for information only, there should always be a link back to a main page or a navigation tree on the page.

Is there an easy way to tell if my site does have dead ends?

Some of the boxed WYSIWYG HTML editors can check for broken links and tell if you have dead ends. The alternative is to manually check each and every page to ensure you do not have any.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the advice!
