Advertising other sites on my website

I have been told by a colleague that it helps to advertise other websites on your own site, and that you do this by setting up a links page. Do you agree with this?

Well, some people think it helps and some people don't. We always go by the mantra that if it's helpful to your visitors, it is a good thing. Some websites have gone overboard with linking out and advertising other sites -- they're called scraper sites. Since many of them rank highly, there is definitely some merit to the idea that linking to other websites can be helpful. Good luck!
