marketing cosmetic surgery practices

Can you tell me which is better? I am looking at marketing my practice in two different ways... one, by building my own site and using search engine optimization for it, and two, by advertising on other web pages. Do you have a preference for either one, and if so, why?

Hi, that's a good question. Yes, we have a distinct preference for marketing one's own website. Not don't get us wrong, advertising on other websites can be very effective and we consider it as something you should do in addition to marketing your practice via your own website.
But for us, there is really no better way that marketing your own website. This is because you are building assets that will remain online for months and years to come... and also, because by doing so, you don't have to worry about results ending when your payment ends. If you do a good job of building a content-rich, aesthetically-pleasing site, and incorporating effective search engine marketing, you will see results that are far better than those you'll get from simply advertising on other websites.
I hope this helps!
