Google has a Page ranking system. What is it used for?

Google Page Rank (PR) refers to the importance that Google has attached to a website. values range from 10 to 10, with zero being the lowest and ten the most important. The higher your page rank, and thus the more significant that Google considers your website, the more visibility your site gets from Google.
