Advertising will Increase at a Huge Rate In the Next Five Years Online

Advertising and marketing online is expected to grow substantially, in all of the core areas: search engine marketing, online ad displays, and clasified ads, according to Jupiter Research.

• Search enging marketing is expected to grow by 12 percent
• Online display ads will increase at a rate of 7 percent
• Classified ads will increase at a rate of 10 perecent

The net results is that overall, sales will increase to $18.9 billion by 2010.

Companies other than Jupiter Research also see strong advertising growth. The Interactive Advertising Bureau, along with Pricewaterhouse Cooper, saw Internet ad sales climb to $2.8 billion in the first quarter of 2005, up 26% from the same time last year. Forrester Research, too, predicts an increase in online advertising to $14.7 billion in 2005.

All in all, it's a very good time to be a publisher online. With use of the Internet continuing to grow, and broadband connections available to so many people, there is ample opportunity to succeed online.
