So You're Finally Ready to Make a Second or Even Third Doctor Website?
Multiple web sites can work. Three, four, five, even ten web sites enable you to increase your exposure, drive more prospective patients, and build your practice. So it's time to go for it, right? Just copy your website ten times and give each new one a different domain? No! Absolutely not. In fact, that's the worst thing you can do, yet that is the very same thing many companies continue to do today. Not only will this definitely NOT help you, but as we mention in our Watch Out section, it can even get you kicked out of search engines or even banned. So what to do? Well, that's easy if you think it through. First, devote one site to your practice, call this the core site. It's likely your existing web site and may just need some new images, better optimization, and additional content. Then, go to you one of the greatest sources of information, your own inquiries from prospective patients. Using this and providing a question and answer 'forum' you can create a whole new web site geared to educating prospective patients. Next, let your most satisfied patients be your best salespeople. Have them, either by themselves or in conjunction with your team, create a couple new sites, for instance, one site for each satisfied patient who is willing to help. Show only their photographs and provide in-depth blog-style (blog, short for web log, is basically an online journal) content that discusses their experiences. From there, you can look further at your own practice and devote specific web sites to groups of patients, from Asian-American patients to female patients, from reconstructive patients to elderly patients. These are just a few ideas, but they can all work for you. Just remember one thing: make sure you create new, unique, and informative content. It's not just about attracting search engine spiders (and potentially getting banned in the process if you just duplicate content), but it's also about targeting prospective patients and providing the information they are looking for. |
