Plagiarism And Your Website's Content
When it comes to Internet advertising for plastic surgeons, your website should have a great deal of content. Lots of valuable, keyword-rich content will help you to rank well in the search engines, increase traffic to your site, and satisfy your visitors. It's important, however, that you protect all that content. There are several reasons why you wouldn't want someone else taking your content and reproducing it on their site. One of the most important of these is that that content then becomes duplicate' content which holds less value with the search engines. Make sure that you include a copyright logo at the end of every page on your site. While this is no guarantee against plagiarism, it may deter some. You can also visit http://www.copyscape.com and conduct a free search to see if any of your content has been taken. If you find that a website has reproduced your copy, you should take immediate action to have it removed from that site by writing an email to the site's webmaster. Politely but firmly explain that you have found your copyrighted work illegally reproduced on their site and that it must be removed within 48 hours. You should further explain that, in the event your copy is not removed, you will take additional action by reporting them to their web hosting company or by filing a notice of Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) infringement with the search engines. If needed, you can visit the Internet Archive at http://web.archive.org/ to prove that your website was the originator of the copy in question. |
