Increasing Your Website's Page Views

There are many elements that go into good plastic surgery marketing on the Internet. But even with a beautiful website and lots of targeted traffic coming to your site, there can still be problems. One of these involves page views.

Page view refers to the number of times a web page is visited by your visitors. Each time a visitor, or even the same visitor, views a page, it is considered a new page view. Understanding your website's page views is important. You can determine which pages get more page views and are thus more appealing or popular, and which get few page views and could use some changes.

One common problem that people encounter is a website with few overall page views. Visitors may be coming to your website but not visiting any of your other pages from there. This can be a serious problem, and one that needs to be addressed in order for your website to be a successful one. Increasing your site's page views need not be a difficult thing, it typically involves making changes to your main or home page that encourages visitors to click beyond it and into the rest of your site.

Even if your homepage is beautifully designed, it doesn't necessarily mean that visitors are clicking beyond it. The following are important tips to do just that:

  • Decrease load times. If your pages load slowly, visitors aren't likely to continue on your site. Make them load more quickly by reducing the number of graphics, images and other multimedia that you're using. Also be sure to optimize your images for quick load times.
  • Make your navigation easier. A navigation system that is difficult to use or understand won't have your visitors clicking beyond your homepage and to your other pages. Make sure that you sidebar clearly lists all your main category pages and that the same navigation is continued on all of your pages. It can also be very helpful to include a site map and even a search feature.
  • Make your site valuable. Make sure that what you provide to your visitors is valuable in their eyes. This includes both your services as a plastic surgeon, but also the content that you provide on your website. On your homepage, your most important information should be listed high up on the page. If you say that you have detailed information about plastic surgery procedures and a link to that information, make sure that the information really is detailed and valuable. Don't try to fake it with your visitors, they'll only get mad and leave.
