Though the box right on your homepage certainly makes it easy for visitors, it is sometimes better to have a separate page for sign-up. Carefully consider the information that you want to gather from your visitors. While many websites want to gather a good amount of demographic information, this can put some visitors off and it may be best to simply ask for an email address and name. Also be sure that you tell your visitors how often they will receive your newsletter – weekly, monthly, bi-monthly or so on – and the format of your newsletter. You can provide them with an option of format, either standard text format or HTML format.

The next thing to consider is the actual content of your newsletter. For your plastic surgery website, you may want to include information about new or innovative techniques in plastic surgery, any new information about your practice such as new hours, new procedures you perform, new updates on your website, and so on. It’s important that your newsletter include information that is of value to those receiving it, and it should also be well-designed and easy on the eye.
