Four Simple yet Important Elements That Can Make or Break A Site

While there are many factors that help to determine the success of your plastic surgery website, there are four simple yet important elements that can make or break your site. Including these elements into your site’s design can make your site, but overlooking them can potentially break your site.

  • Testimonials. With few exceptions, nearly every great website out there includes testimonials from satisfied customers. Be sure to include positive, powerful testimonials from your own satisfied patients. The best testimonials are those that not only endorse you as a surgeon, but clearly and specifically state how patients benefited from your services. Great testimonials can make potential patients feel more comfortable with your skills while also offering tangible benefits that they can identify with. For your plastic surgery website, you should also include before-and-after pictures of previous patients as these can prove just as powerful as testimonials.
  • Contact Information. Every great website makes it easy and simple for visitors to contact them. Your contact information should be clearly visible on each and every page of your site. This must include your email address and phone number, but should also include other information like your fax number and mailing address. There are other things that you can do to make it easy for visitors to contact you, such as providing a contact form or even a forum or Q&A column where visitors can post messages. Keep in mind that it’s just as important that you promptly respond to any and all contact from visitors.
  • Headlines. If you’re like most people who read the newspaper, you likely scan the page and first read the story with the headline that catches your attention. Headlines can serve the same purpose on a website and, in fact, can be even more important on the Internet. People read text on the computer different than they do text in print, namely in that they tend to scan rather than fully read every word and every page. As such, headlines can highlight important information and allow visitors to quickly find what they’re looking for.
  • Bullets. Like headlines, bulleted lists can highlight important information. They’re also well-suited to reading on the Internet because they tend to be more concise and to-the-point. They can also quickly convey important information and build interest.
