An
autoresponder is exactly what it sounds like, a feature that automatically
responds via email to people who send you inquiries or other correspondence.
When advertising cosmetic surgery or any other business
on the Internet, it can be a very useful tool. These automatic responses
can enhance your visitors’ experience and encourage them to return
to your website. There are several different ways that you can use an
autoresponder with your website, including the following:
- To thank a visitor for signing your guest book.
- To thank a visitor for signing up for your newsletter and to let them
know when they can expect to receive it.
- To alert a visitor that a form they have filled out has been received.
- To follow up after communications, such as sending a message that
allows visitors to know that their correspondence has been received
and will be answered shortly.
- To deliver interesting or updated articles or information to those
who have requested it.
When using an autoresponder, make sure that you use it properly and
that it adheres to the terms of your privacy policy. Any message sent
to a visitor via your autoresponder should be a message they would expect
or be happy to receive, not one that annoys them, and it should only
be sent to them once. Don’t use an autoresponder to send unsolicited
advertisements. At the same time, however, be sure to take advantage
of the opportunity it presents you, namely to encourage repeat traffic.
